Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission file is in RTF file format.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

The SW&S-Journal is an Open Access Online Journal for Social Work and Social Policy. As an international journal the SW&S-Journal is using English as a standard language. Publication in other languages is possible. Non-English papers have a comprehensive abstract with at least 400-500 words in English.

Authors, interested in matters of social work, social welfare and social policy are very welcome to submit contributions of various kinds: Special Issues and SW&S Forum.

All submissions should follow our basic style sheet (compatible with Libre/Open Office and Microsoft Word). Please use the template below:

There are no fees payable to submit or publish in this journal.

The SW&S-Journal consists of specific sections.

Special Issue-Articles (5000 - 8000 words) and SW&S Special Issues

Articles can also be submitted to the announced special issues. The SW&S-Journal welcomes guest editors for special issues. Special Issues have to be focused on a highly relevant scientific topic in the fields of social work and social policy. Proposals for Special Issues comprise a sketch (200-400 words), the working titles of the Special Issue articles and the designated authors (4-7).

SW&S Forum (5000 - 8000 words)

The SW&S-Journal is happy to receive papers on topics concerning social work and society from all fields of social work, social welfare and social policy. Once articles are submitted they will be peer-reviewed by at least two referees (double blind). There will be a feedback of the comments of the referees to the authors by the articles editor.
